NSCDC deploys 1,700 personnel to ensure safe, crime-free yuletide in Niger State
In a significant move to ensure a crime-free Christmas and New Year celebration, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Niger State Command, has deployed no fewer than 1,700 personnel to beef up security across the state before, during, and after the yuletide celebrations.
The State Commandant of the corps, Commander Abdullahi Adamu Kambra, made this announcement while addressing the management and staff of the command at the headquarters in Minna.
According to a press release issued and signed by the Command Public Relations Officer (CDPRO) DSC Abubakar Mohammed Muti, Commander Kambra stated that the deployment of operatives aims to provide adequate security for critical infrastructures throughout the festive period.
He emphasized that the deployment is also intended to protect critical national assets and infrastructures in the state during the yuletide celebrations. Commander Kambra explained that this measure is part of the corps' efforts to maintain law and order, protect lives and properties, and ensure a successful celebration.
All deployed men and officers of the command are expected to conduct stop-and-search operations at all exit points in Minna metropolis. He urged the personnel to exhibit a high level of professionalism and work collaboratively with other sister security agencies in the state.
Commander Kambra assured the people of Niger State of the command's readiness to provide adequate security to ensure their safety during the Christmas and New Year celebrations. He called on the public to assist security operatives by reporting any suspicious activities or movements to the corps or other security agencies for prompt action, emphasizing that working together can ensure a peaceful and joyous celebration.
