Gov Umaru Bago promises rice processing factory, cattle market for Malagi village
Niger State Governor, Hon. Mohammed Umaru Bago, has pledged to construct a rice processing factory and a cattle market in Malagi village, Gbako Local Government Area. The governor made this promise while inaugurating three projects in the community, executed by the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris Malagi.
The inaugurated projects include rural electrification, which has connected the Malagi community to the national grid, a 500-capacity Jumma’at mosque, and an Islamic school. Governor Bago described these projects as unprecedented and life-changing for the community. He commended the minister for his efforts and urged other political officeholders to follow his example.
The governor emphasised the importance of unity, stating that it is a strong pillar for the growth and development of any society. During his visit to the renovated Malagi primary school, he promised to upgrade it to a junior secondary school.
In his remarks, the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, said the gesture aimed to improve the lives of the people and connect them to the wider world. He urged the community to be patient with the present administration, as President Bola Ahmed Tinubu was initiating policies that would benefit them. The minister also encouraged the youth to remain law-abiding, acquire skills for self-reliance, and contribute positively to nation-building.
The Etsu Nupe and Chairman of the Niger State Council of Traditional Rulers, Alh. Yahaya Abubakar, applauded the minister for executing projects that would last for generations, noting that he has written his name in the history of Malagi. The Director-General of the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Ali Mohammed, speaking on behalf of other agencies under the Federal Ministry of Information, expressed pride in the minister's remarkable achievements.
Gbako Council Chairman Hassan Muhammad and the District Head of Lemu, who doubles as the Nakodin Nupe, Muhammad Bello, appreciated the minister's noble initiative and the governor's support for the grassroots. Governor Bago, the minister, Etsu Nupe, Emir of Agaie, and other dignitaries later observed their Jumma'at prayer in the newly inaugurated mosque in Malagi.
