Niger Gov pledges reconstruction of Kuta-Zumba Road amidst community support
The Niger State Government has pledged to reconstruct the Kuta-Zumba road in the Shiroro Local Government Area. Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago made this promise on Thursday in Kuta, the headquarters of Shiroro Local Government, where a large crowd gathered at the town square to welcome him during his statewide project monitoring tour.
Governor Bago assured the community that the road project would commence soon to provide relief to those who use the road. He also directed his deputy, who hails from the area, to ensure that electricity is restored to the people within the next 20 days.
Expressing his gratitude for the overwhelming support, Governor Bago reaffirmed his administration's unwavering commitment to addressing insecurity in the area. He announced that Senator Mohammed Sani Musa, representing Niger East Senatorial District, would renovate the mosque in Kuta town, sponsor 200 students to study in Singapore, and construct a mini stadium in Kuta for sporting activities.
In his remarks, Deputy Governor Comrade Yakubu Garba thanked the people of Kuta for their support of the current administration and assured them of continued dividends of democracy.
Senator Mohammed Sani Musa expressed his delight with the gathering and assured the community that the government had developed strategies to address the insecurity plaguing the area.
In their separate remarks, the Chairman of Shiroro Local Government Area, Akilu Isyaku, and elder statesman Prof. Bashar Nuhu Tachi commended Governor Bago for his visit, his good working relationship with his deputy, the relative peace in the local government area, and the remarkable projects his administration is executing across the state. They appealed for increased security efforts and the completion of the road project to Erena town, which was abandoned due to insecurity, and promised their continued support for the administration's success.
The governor was honoured with the title of Amanan Shiroro by the people and stakeholders of the Shiroro Local Government Area in recognition of his positive contributions to the community.
