Niger State Governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago, has expressed his heartfelt appreciation to the citizens of the state for their unwavering support and understanding during his recent leave of absence.
In a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Bologi Ibrahim, Governor Bago specifically commended his Deputy, Comrade Yakubu Garba, for his active, passionate, and resilient leadership as acting governor. He praised Garba for steering the state's leadership effectively in his absence.
Governor Bago also extended his gratitude to the members of the state executive council, the legislature, the judiciary, traditional and religious leaders, and the heads of security agencies for their overwhelming support and contributions. He acknowledged the media's role in promoting the growth and development of Niger State.
Reflecting on his leave period, Governor Bago noted that it provided him with the opportunity to evaluate the impact of his administration's policies and programs. He emphasised his commitment to improving these initiatives for better service delivery to the people of Niger State.
Reaffirming his dedication to the New Niger Agenda, Governor Bago pledged to serve the people with renewed vigour and diligence.

The Chairman of Chanchaga Local Government Council in Niger State, Hon. Aminu Yakubu Ladan, has reaffirmed the council's commitment to improving the livelihoods of its residents, particularly the less privileged.
Speaking at the closing ceremony of the cash support distribution program for women petty traders, held in Kpakungu community, Minna South, Hon. Ladan emphasised that the council is dedicated to implementing programs with direct benefits to the people. He highlighted the cash support initiative as a prime example and assured that more such programs are in the pipeline to enhance the lives of the local populace.
Hon. Ladan announced the council's ambitious plan to empower approximately 5000 women and youths, aligning with the state governor, Farmer Mohammed Umar Bago's efforts to improve the welfare and well-being of the state's residents. He explained that the council's approach of personally distributing the cash support across the 11 wards of the local government mirrors their campaign strategy, fostering direct interaction with the community.
The Chairman noted that this initiative provides an opportunity to give back to the people who entrusted them with their mandate. He also revealed that the second phase of the cash support program would commence soon, urging those who did not benefit from the first phase to remain patient. He advised the beneficiaries to utilise the support to expand their businesses.
Hon. Yahuza Sa'idu Etsu, the House Leader of Chanchaga Legislative Council, expressed gratitude on behalf of all the councillors, commending the Chairman for his efforts and pledging their continued support.
