Gov Bago condoles with Sarkin Zazzau Suleja over death of Chief Imam
Niger State Governor, Hon. Mohammed Umaru Bago, has condoled with the Emir of Suleja, Mallam Muhammadu Awwal Ibrahim, and the entire people of Suleja Emirate over the demise of the Chief Imam of Suleja Central Mosque, Sheikh Dahiru Shu'aibu.
While praying for the repose of the souls of the departed, the governor enjoined the people of the emirate to accept whatever Allah has permitted to happen.
In a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Bologi Ibrahim, the governor said he was at the emir's palace in Suleja for the condolence visit.
The Emir of Suleja, Mallam Muhammadu Awwal Ibrahim, described the late Chief Imam as a peace-loving personality and a bridge-builder.
He noted that the deceased had contributed his quota to the development of the emirate and the state.
The emir said the late Sheikh Shu'aibu was among the finest Islamic scholars in the emirate, and he will be missed for his selflessness, commitment, and dedication to whatever duty was assigned to him.
The late Sheikh Dahiru Shu'aibu was a retired Sharia Court Judge who served in Suleja, Tafa, Gurara, Paikoro, and Bida local government areas as a judge in Sharia Courts.
Born on October 15, 1958, in Suleja Local Government, the late Sheikh established Mahmud Sabo Muslim School and authored many Islamic books written in Arabic and Hausa.
He also served in different committees, including as chairman of the Niger State Quranic Recitation Competition for four years and as a member of the Zakkah committee in Suleja local government.
The deceased was appointed as the Salanke Zazzau Suleja in 2001 and was later elevated to Chief Imam of Suleja in the year 2017 after the demise of the then Imam, Mallam Dantani.
The late Sheikh Dahiru Shu'aibu died a few hours after his return from Saudi Arabia.
Similarly, Governor Umaru Bago commiserates with the emir over the demise of his nephew, Mallam Jibrin Inuwa.
Prayers were offered for the repose of their souls and for Allah to comfort the people of the emirate.
