Niger govt to hold council meetings via Zoom
Niger State Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago has said that, henceforth, the State Executive Council (SEC) meetings will be conducted through Zoom.
He also promised that no file would stay on his table for 24 hours without being treated, urging other key government officials to do the same.
The governor stated this at an enlarged inaugural state executive council meeting held at the council chamber, Government House, Minna.
He gave the revenue-generating ministries, departments, and agencies (MDAs) in the state an annual target of N120 billion.
The governor asked them to remember their oath of office, urging them to be accessible and responsible in the discharge of their duties.
The governor noted that for the present administration to deliver dividends of democracy to the citizens, things must be done differently and rightly.
According to him "any file on my table will not last twenty-four hours".
He said all the revenue-generating MDAs should redouble their efforts to make sure the monthly target of N10 billion naira is achieved.
The governor explained that the administration's policies would be deliberate and promised to heavily invest in agricultural equipment to turn around the fortunes of the state.
He also suspended mining activities in the state until miners are profiled and documented to curb criminality.
He said the new ministries were created to fit into the vision and mission of his administration.
