Former Niger CP decorates newly promoted officers
The newly promoted Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) and former Niger State Police Commissioner, Mr. Ogundele Joshua Ayodeji, have decrorated other newly promoted police officers serving under Niger State Command with their new ranks.
Those decorated were two assistant commissioners of police, the ACP, six CSPs, four SPs, and 300 DSPs.
The decoration was a sequel to the recent promotion released by the Police Service Commission.
The AIG, according to the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) Niger State Command, DSP Wasiu Abidoun, said in a press release issued and signed by him and obtained by Newsline that the AIG was assisted by DCP Aminu Garba and other senior police officers during a brief ceremony.
Mr. Ogundele Joshua Ayodeji, who spoke shortly after decorating the beneficiaries, however, congratulated them and stated that his recent promotion was for all the personnel of the Niger State Command.
The AIG further informed the promoted officers that they should bear in mind that promotion goes with additional responsibilities and urged them to brace up to the challenges of their new ranks.
Speaking on behalf of all other beneficaries, ACP Aliyu Akande expressed appreciation to the police service commission and the AIG for considering them worthy of the promotion and pledged to redouble their efforts in the course of discharging their legitimate duties of serving the nation.
