Deputy Governor of Niger State, Comrade Yakubu Garba, has advised Dan Majen Minna, Abubakar Sadeeq, and his newlywed bride, Fa'iza, to build their home on an Islamic foundation.
The Deputy Governor gave the advice when he represented the family of the Emir of Minna, Alh. (Dr) Umar Faruq Bahago, at the wedding Fatiha of the Emir's son, Abubakar Sadeeq, held at the Chiromawa Estate, Minna, on Friday.
He added that they should be tolerant, respect one another, and not allow third parties into their marital affairs.
"My advice to the new couple is to have fear of God in their marital affairs. They should tolerate and respect one another; they should also deal with their problems themselves without bringing in a third party. If they abide by all these, they will have a happy marriage," the deputy governor advised.
The deputy governor was accompanied to the occasion by the Deputy Chief of Staff, Deputy Governor's Office, Mallam Bello Ibrahim, and some other state government officials.
The Chief Imam of Minna, Mallam Isah Fari, led other Ulamas to officiate the wedding niqqa upon the payment of N200,000 as dowry by the groom and confirmation of all medical test results of the couple as stipulated by law.
Special prayers were offered for the couple's happy matrimony and the leaders for Allah's guidance as they piloted the affairs of the state, as well as peaceful coexistence in the state and the country as a whole.
Dignitaries from within and outside the state, including former chief security officer to the former Nigerian head of state, Late Gen. Sani Abacha, Major Hamza Al-Mustapha, attended the wedding Fatiha.
The bride, Fa'iza, is the daughter of Chiroman Minna, Alh. Usman Nagogo.
