Gov Bago attends funeral of Galadiman Nupe
Niger State Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago joined mourners Wednesday to attend the funeral prayer and final interment of the late Galadiman Nupe, Alh Danjuma Galadima, at the ancient town of Bida.
The funeral, which was conducted at the Umaru Majigi Central Mosque in Bida, was attended by other dignitaries, including the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris Malagi, Etsu Nupe, Alh. Yahaya Abubakar, the Emir of Agaie, Alh. Yusuf Nuhu, and the Emir of Kagara, Alh. Ahmad Garba Gunna.
The Chief Imam of Bida, Sheikh Adamu Yakatun, led the funeral prayer.
Governor Bago, at the residence of the deceased, encouraged the family to accept the demise of the late Galadiman Nupe as an act of God. He also proceeded to Etsu Nupe’s palace and condoled with him over the recent deaths of prominent people in the Nupe Kingdom and assured him of his continued support.
The governor paid a similar visit to the family of the late All Progressives Congress (APC) Bida Local Government Chairman, Alh. Salihu Ndagi.
