Niger Police Command presents over N40 million to families of deceased police personnel
The Niger State Commissioner of Police, CP Shawulu Ebenezer Danmamman, has presented cheques of over N40 million to the next of kin and families of police personnel under the command who lost their lives in the line of duty recently.
The commissioner, while speaking at the presentation of the cheques to the beneficaries that took place on Friday at the police officers mess in Minna, said the cheques that he presented on behalf of IGP Kayode Egbetun were under the Group Life Assurance and IGP Families Welfare Insurance Scheme.
CP Danmman said the gesture was in line with the concern expressed for the welfare of the deceased families in order to ameliorate the hardships they might be facing.
He, however, asserted that the money might not be enough to cater for all the family needs, believing that it was a token that would grow to sustain the family to some extent in addressing some of their pressing needs.
He then prayed to God to strengthen the families and fill the void that the departure of their loved ones might have caused.
Responding on behalf of the benefiting families, Joshua Shaaba appreciated the IGP Egbetoun Kayode, CP Shawulu Ebenezer Danmamman, and other police personnel for the efforts made by them to ensure speedy processing of their beloved deceased claims.
Highlights of the brief presentation ceremony included a special prayer offered by the command clergymen, CSP Ebede Tobechukuwu and CSP Yakubu Tahir.
The event was witnessed by top senior police officers and the management of the command.
