The Deputy Governor of Niger State, Comrade Yakubu Garba, has congratulated his principal, Farmer Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago, on the conferment of the Turakin Nupe title by the Etsu Nupe and Chairman of the Niger State Council of Traditional Rulers, Alhaji Yahaya Abubakar.
The Deputy Governor, in a congratulatory message signed and made available to newsmen by his Press Secretary, Ummikhaltume Abdullahi Kuta, said the conferment was a testament to the ability and commitment of the Farmer Governor towards the transformation of the state into a viable, formidable, resilient, and resourceful New Niger.
He stated that as his deputy and confidant in the progress of Niger State, he remains loyal and dedicated to the governor's course and path to the development and growth of the people and their communities.
The Deputy Governor added that the Farmer Governor had done it before, during his sojourn as a Federal House of Representatives Member for Chanchaga federal constituency, and he is equally doing it again as Farmer Governor of Niger State.
"Your conferment as the new Turakin Nupe did not come to most of us who are close to you because we have known you to be a true son of the Nupe Kingdom who is so passionate about the growth and development of Nupe land," the statement added.
While praying that the conferment of the title on the Farmer Governor should bring more peace, unity, and progress to the entire Nupe Kingdom, the Deputy Governor also beseeched Allah to take control of all the programmes and policies of the present administration towards the realisation of a greater new Niger State.
