No fewer than 41 police officers from Niger State Command have been promoted from Deputy Superintendent of Police DSP to the rank of Superintendent of Police SP by the Police Service Commission.
The promotion, which was carried out recently, has benefited a total of 1,607 DSPs, including the Niger State command PPRO SP Wasiu Abiodun, as recommended by the IGP.
Niger State Commissioner of Police, CP Shaluwu Ebenezer Danmamman, while decorating the beneficiaries of the new rank at the command headquarters in Minna, congratulated them while noting that promotion calls for added responsibility and asserting that more expectations in terms of credible performance were required from the officers, in line with the vision of Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun.
CP Danmamman then urged the newly promoted police officers to have respect for human rights, be people-friendly, and operate intelligently with the deployment of technology in their duties.
He further admonished them to take care of their families as they progressed in their respective duty posts.
Some of those promoted officers included the spokesman of Niger State Police Command, Wasiu Abiodun, who got his promotion to the new rank of SP; others were SP Wakili Ahmed; SP Mohammed Bala; Area Commander Minna; SP Aisha Idris Quarter Master; SP Hassan Baba; Officer in Charge of Sports; and SP Jagaba Lukas, Secret Registry.
Other officers promoted were SP Dattijo Likita, 12 Mobile Police Force Minna, SP Gambo Doma, 0/c Mutun Daya, SP Dokochi Muhammad, 0/c GI, and SP Shekari Markus, among others.
Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, SP Jagaba Lucas appreciated the commissioner of police for his positive recommendation to the force headquarters, the police service commission (PSC), and the IGP for making the welfare of police personnel a priority.
