Niger Dep Gov mourns veteran labour leader Adams Erena
The Deputy Governor of Niger State, Comrade Yakubu Garba, has described the death of a former Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) Chairman, Comrade Mohammed Adams Erena, as a great loss to the country, the state, and the entire labour family.
The Deputy Governor, in a condolence message through his Press Secretary, Ummikhaltume Abdullahi Kuta, said the veteran labour leader died at a time when his advice, contribution, and mentorship were mostly needed for the growth and development of the state.
Comrade Yakubu Garba said he feels saddened over the demise of Comrade Adams Erena, despite the fact that death is inevitable, because from Allah we come and to Him we shall all return.
He described the former Secretary to the Niger State Government as a great man who lived an exemplary life that was hinged on modesty, truth, fairness, accountability, and the fear of Allah.
The Deputy Governor expressed his heartfelt condolences to the Executive Governor of Niger State, Hon. Mohammed Umaru Bago, the entire Labour family, the immediate family of the deceased, and the entire Nigerlite community.
While praying for the soul of the veteran comrade to rest in paradise, Comrade Yakubu Garba urged the bereaved to take solace in God as He gives and takes.
Until his death, Comrade Adams Erena was a Special Adviser to the Farmer Governor of Niger State on Labour Affairs and Chairman of the Niger State Veteran Comrades' Forum.
The late Comrade Adams Erena, who died in the early hours of Sunday, has since been buried according to Islamic injunctions after the funeral prayers at the Emir's Palace in Minna.
