Gov Umaru Bago congratulates Niger NUJ executives on reelection
Governor of Niger State, Hon. Mohammed Umaru Bago, has congratulated the Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Niger State Council, Comrade Abu Nmodu, and other officials on their reelection to pilot the affairs of the Union for the next three years.
The governor, in a congratulatory message through his Chief Press Secretary, Bologi Ibrahim, said the re-election of Abu Nmodu and other executive members demonstrated exceptional teamwork and collective vision.
He noted the unprecedented progress and development the union has experienced during the first tenure of the comrade Nmodu-led administration.
Governor Bago urged the newly sworn-in executives to redouble their efforts in serving members of the union so as to consolidate on the gains while also taking deliberate steps to eliminate quacks among them to further address the challenges of fake news.
He reminded journalists of the state of their roles in society and stressed the need for them to be objective in their reportage.
He said they are critical stakeholders in his administration's New Niger Agenda.
The governor then re-assures his administration's unflinching support to the leadership and members of the union, pointing out that the already existing cordial relationship between the government and working journalists in the state would be strengthened for more mutually beneficial outcomes.
