Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago of Niger State has extended heartfelt congratulations to former military president, Gen. Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida, on his 83rd birthday.
In a birthday message delivered by his Chief Press Secretary, Bologi Ibrahim, Governor Bago praised Gen. Babangida as a patriotic elder statesman and a paragon of honor. He highlighted the former Nigerian leader's diligent and committed service to the nation.
Governor Bago noted that Gen. Babangida has consistently engaged in selfless service, contributing to the unity, stability, and progress of Nigeria, as well as the wellbeing of its citizens. He emphasised that the former leader's pursuit of excellence and prioritisation of competence led to the successful implementation of numerous policies and programs during his tenure as military president.
The governor also acknowledged that Gen. Babangida has carved a niche for himself and become a mentor to many Nigerians. He remarked that reaching the age of 83 is a special grace from God and prayed for many more years of good health for the celebrant.
