Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago has extended his heartfelt congratulations to the Etsu Nupe and Chairman of the Niger State Council of Traditional Rulers, Alhaji Yahaya Abubakar, on the occasion of his 21st year on the throne and his 72nd birthday.
In a statement, the Governor expressed gratitude to Allah for His mercies and kindness in the life of the esteemed traditional leader of the Nupe Kingdom. He praised the 13th Etsu Nupe for his fatherly role, not only among the Nupe-speaking people but also to everyone around him.
Governor Bago highlighted the unity and high cultural values displayed by the subjects of the Etsu Nupe, attributing these qualities to the monarch's purposeful leadership and efforts in promoting, strengthening, and sustaining the rich cultural heritage of the Nupe Kingdom.
He noted that the reign of Etsu Nupe has had a tremendously positive impact, not only on his subjects but also on diverse Nigerians around his Kingdom. The Governor described the monarch as a bridge-builder, selfless, determined, and caring leader who always stands by his people.
Governor Bago also commended the Etsu Nupe for leading other traditional rulers in the state to support the policies and programs of the current administration at all levels. He prayed for Allah's continued love and mercy on the revered traditional leader, wishing him more effective service to humanity and a peaceful and successful reign.
