Niger MHWUN chairman calls for dedication to boost health sector
The newly elected Chairman of the Medical and Health Workers Union of Nigeria (MHWUN), Niger State Council, Comrade Usman Abubakar Dabban, has urged union members to rededicate themselves to their work.
In a statement signed by the union's secretary, Comrade Abdullahi M. Abubakar, Comrade Dabban emphasised that dedication will drive overall development, growth, and upliftment of the health sector in the state. He highlighted that this commitment is crucial for realising the New Niger Agenda under the leadership of Governor Mohammed Umar Bago.
Comrade Dabban acknowledged the vital role played by union members in providing adequate healthcare services, especially to women and children. He implored them to remain steadfast in their responsibilities.
The chairman assured that the newly elected state executives would prioritise the welfare of union members, focussing on training and retraining initiatives. He congratulated all officials elected alongside him and appreciated the national returning officers for conducting a smooth election. He also commended the union members for their mature and peaceful conduct during the state delegate conference.
Furthermore, Comrade Dabban expressed gratitude to the state Deputy Governor, Comrade Yakubu Garba, for attending the conference and assured him that the new leadership would build on his legacies. He appealed to the Deputy Governor to continue offering his fatherly advice to the new state executives.
The state delegate conference, held at Doko Hotels in Minna, saw the emergence of other state executives, including Comrade Ishaku Karuma as Vice Chairman, Comrade Ibrahim B. Mohammed as Treasurer, Comrade Mohammed Sani Idris as State Trustee, Comrade Ibrahim Isah as Auditor, and Comrade Rayyanu M. Sule as Public Relations Officer.
