Niger Police nab teen robber in Bosso
Nigeria Police operatives from the Bosso Division of the Niger State Command have arrested a 17-year-old boy for armed robbery.
The suspect, identified as Wisdom Danjuma from the Jikpan area of Bosso LGA, was apprehended on September 13, 2024, following a distress call reporting a robbery at a POS shop in Lawu Estate, Bosso Low-Cost Minna. According to a press release issued by the command's PPRO, SP Wasiu Abiodun, Danjuma allegedly robbed a female POS attendant of One Hundred Thousand Naira (N100,000.00).
Preliminary investigations revealed that Danjuma criminally trespassed into the POS shop, brandished a sharp, long knife, and intimidated the attendant before making off with the money. The victim raised an alarm, prompting community members and a police patrol team to give chase. Danjuma was eventually apprehended.
At the time of his arrest, the stolen money and the knife used in the robbery were recovered from Danjuma. He confessed to being sent by two other gang members who remain at large. Efforts are ongoing to apprehend the remaining suspects.
