UNGA79: Gov Bago engages global stakeholders on SDGs
Niger State Governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago has, while in New York, United States of America, revealed to global audience, progress made in Niger State in terms of infrastructure and agriculture among other interventions towards the realization of the Sustainable Development Goals programme.
The governor who was among stakeholders from across the globe that took part at the opening of the 79th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA79), restated the determination of the Niger State government to continue to invest heavily in agriculture towards the attainment of the SDGs.
He also emphasized the need for all stakeholders to do more in health, poverty reduction, urban and rural development and opined that the desired result would be achieved if global stakeholders would mobilise resources, effectively implement SDGs policies and engage communities.
Governor Bago was also involved in a side-event with other governors under the aegis of the Nigeria Governors' Forum (NGF) as well as other global stakeholders to prioritise and fine-tune the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially as it enters the second half of its 2030 agenda across the world.
During the side-event, stakeholders accessed the progress made so far on the SDGs, and recommendations were also made to successfully attain all the goals of the SDGs, especially goals 1,2,3 and 11 at all levels.
