Governor of Niger State, Mohammed Umaru Bago, has called on Nigerians to deepen their prayers for the peace and prosperity of the nation. In a message delivered by his Chief Press Secretary, Bologi Ibrahim, to mark the 64th independence anniversary, the governor acknowledged the current economic hardships facing the country.
Governor Bago recognised the prevailing harsh economic conditions and encouraged citizens to strengthen their faith in God, assuring them that the government at all levels is making concerted efforts to stabilise the economy. He stated, "The challenges may be enormous, but they are surmountable, and there will be light at the end of the tunnel by the grace of God."
He urged Nigerians not to focus solely on the negatives but to reflect on God's mercies and favours and to be thankful for the unity of the nation despite the challenges. Governor Bago emphasised that a united Nigeria is more beneficial for all citizens.
While congratulating Nigerians on the 64th anniversary of nationhood, he appealed to everyone to remain resolute, law-abiding, passionate, and supportive of the government at all levels in the collective task of nation-building. He reassured the people of Niger State that his administration is determined and working tirelessly to ensure the security of lives and livelihoods and to achieve the New Niger agenda for the benefit of all.
