Niger Assembly visits Emir of Minna over robbery attack
Speaker of the Niger State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Barr. Abdulmalik Sarkindaji, along with other members, paid a sympathy visit to the Emir of Minna, HRH, Alh. Umar Farouk Bahago, over the recent robbery attack in his Palace.
This was contained in a press release made available by Mallam Farouq Umar Isah, Head of Media and Public Relations, Niger State House of Assembly.
Barr. Sarkindaji described the attack as unfortunate and unacceptable, saying that the incident was regrettable.
The Speaker said that if a respected and secure place like the Minna Emir Palace could come under attack, then all of us would not be safe.
He urged the security agencies to ensure that the perpetrators were arrested and brought to justice.
As he gave assurance that the 10th House of Assembly is working together with the executive arm of the government, he called on cooperation amongst all to ensure that not only Minna but the entire state is secured.
In his remark, the Emir, Alhaji (Dr) Umar Farouk Bahago, appreciated the lawmakers sympathy visit and expressed gratitude to God that no life was lost in the process.
The Emir then assured the State Assembly of the cooperation of the State Council of Traditional Rulers towards ensuring that the 10th Assembly succeeds in its legislative functions for the overall benefit of the people.
