Niger Gov announces construction of Bangi road in 2025
The dilapidated Kontangora-Bangi road in Mariga Local Government Area will be fixed in 2025, Governor of Niger State, Mohammed Umaru Bago, has declared.
The governor made this announcement in Bangi, the headquarters of Mariga Local Government Area, while inspecting road projects as part of his statewide project monitoring tour. He emphasized that the road, which will connect to neighboring states, is expected to boost farming activities.
Governor Bago, known for his focus on agricultural prosperity, encouraged the youth to embrace farming to improve their lives.
In their remarks, Abdullahi Idris Garba, the Member representing Kontagora/Wushishi/Mariga/Mashegu Federal Constituency, Abdulmalik Sarkin Daji, the Speaker of the Niger State House of Assembly, and Aminu Musa Bobi, the State APC Chairman, praised the governor for his remarkable projects and assured him of their continued support. They urged the public to continue supporting the current administration.
Governor Bago also inspected the remodeling of the Aminu Isah Kontagora General Hospital in Bangi. Additionally, the state government announced plans to construct a ring road in Kontagora to alleviate traffic congestion. The governor revealed that the new Kontagora city plan would include basic social amenities, recreational centers, parks, and hotels along the ring road to enhance the town’s aesthetics.
The governor inspected the expansion of the 7.8 km single-lane road, initially constructed by the previous administration, and the ongoing 21.2 km road construction. He reiterated his commitment to the speedy completion of both state-owned and federal road projects in the area.
During his visit to the palace of the Emir of Kontagora, Alh. Muhammad Barau Mu’azu II, Governor Bago expressed gratitude for the support from the people of Kontagora and the Emirate. He announced plans to construct a befitting accommodation for the Emir within the palace.
The Emir of Kontagora praised Governor Bago as an exemplary leader and appreciated his developmental projects, which have positively impacted the lives of the citizens.
Governor Bago also visited the Babban Rami community in Mashegu Local Government Area, where he interacted with community members and assured them of continued provision of democratic dividends. He acknowledged Mashegu’s vast farmlands and promised more agricultural interventions to maintain its leading role in farming activities.
In their remarks, Mashegu Council Chairman Umar Jibrin, the member representing Mashegu State Constituency Alhassan Isah, and the District Head of Babban Rami, Ismaila Muhammad Fodio, commended the governor’s developmental efforts and pledged their continued support.
