The Niger State House of Assembly has reaffirmed its commitment to partnering with stakeholders across the state. This was disclosed by the Clerk of the House, Mallam Farouq Umar Isah, during an advocacy visit by officials of the Niger State At-Risk Children Programme (ARC-P) to the House of Assembly Complex in Minna.
Mallam Umar Isah commended the team leader and members of ARC-P for their initiative, highlighting the immense benefits the programme will bring to Nigerlites. He assured the officials of the Assembly’s legislative support to help them achieve their goals, aligning with Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago’s New Niger Agenda, which focuses on health, education, and agriculture.
In her remarks, the State’s Team Leader and Coordinator of ARC-P, Aisha Umar Tafida, expressed gratitude for the warm reception and congratulated the Clerk on his recent appointment. She explained that their visit aimed to advocate for the programme and seek the Assembly’s support.
Aisha Umar Tafida emphasized that ARC-P aims to integrate at-risk children and young adults by creating opportunities for skills development and employment, reducing their vulnerabilities, and enabling them to compete globally. She outlined the seven pillars of ARC-P: Basic Literacy and Numeracy, Health and Nutrition, Agriculture and Climate Change, Entrepreneurial and Financial Literacy, Digital Skills and Creativity, Sports and Life Skills, and Intervention.
This partnership marks a significant step towards improving the lives of at-risk children in Niger State.
