The Deputy Governor of Niger State, Comrade Yakubu Garba, has reaffirmed the state government’s dedication to supporting education and community development initiatives.
Speaking at the first Gbagyi Leadership Summit organized by the Gbagyi Scholars Global Network at the Nigeria National Merit House in Maitama, Abuja, Comrade Garba emphasized the administration’s commitment under Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago.
“It is a known fact that our principal, the Farmer Governor, Hon. Mohammed Umaru Bago, is passionate about developing our rural communities, and we are all with him on this,” said the Deputy Governor.
He highlighted that the New Niger Agenda is not merely a political slogan but a tangible goal, stressing the importance of visible development in rural areas.
The summit, themed “Scholarship and the Challenges of Self-Determination for National Development,” was held under the auspices of the Honourable Minister for Special Duties and Inter-Governmental Affairs, Hon. Zephaniah Bitrus Jisalo.
Comrade Garba called on the Gbagyi people to commit to the development of their communities through education, leadership training, and empowerment. He also underscored the importance of mutual support to secure a better future for the next generations, pledging his commitment to aiding the younger generation in achieving self-actualization.

Niger State Deputy Governor, Comrade Yakubu Garba, has extended heartfelt congratulations to his kinsman, Prof. Muhammad Bashar Nuhu Tachi, on the occasion of his 55th birthday anniversary.
In a message conveyed through his press secretary, Ummikhaltume Abdullahi Kuta, the Deputy Governor praised Prof. Tachi as an elder statesman and a dedicated educationist who has significantly contributed to the educational advancement of Niger State and Nigeria as a whole.
Comrade Yakubu Garba highlighted Prof. Tachi’s numerous achievements in leadership, mentorship, and education, describing them as both symbolic and inspiring. He expressed deep appreciation for Prof. Tachi’s unwavering commitment to the growth and development of Niger State, recognising him as a patriotic and resourceful Nigerlite.
The Deputy Governor prayed that as Prof. Tachi celebrates his 55th birthday, Almighty Allah will bless him with many more fruitful years to serve humanity and achieve further milestones. He also wished for Prof. Tachi’s continued contributions towards a prosperous and developed Niger State.
Additionally, the Deputy Governor sought Allah’s immeasurable blessings, guidance, and a fulfilling lifetime for the celebrant, assuring him of his best wishes and regards.
Prof. Nuhu Tachi, a former commissioner, currently serves as the Chairman of the Governing Council of the Federal College of Education (Technical), Gusau, Zamfara State. He is also the founder and chairman of the Basira Bashir Foundation (BBF) and the initiator of the Personal Change Reform (PCR).
