Niger CP seeks collaboration with sister agencies to fight crime
By Suleiman Yakubu
The Niger State Commissioner of Police, CP Shawulu Ebenezer Danmamman, has stressed the need for synergy and cooperation among security agencies in the state to enhance their operations towards curbing crimes.
The commissioner said this when he paid a courtesy visit to the Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Niger State Command, CC Kumar Tsukwan, in his office yesterday in Minna.
CP Danmamman said that such cooperation and synergy among security brotherly agencies will help in tamming the activities of criminals.
The commissioner said the visit to the sector commander of FRSC in the state was meant to sustain the existing cordial relationship between the two organisations with the view to curb accidents, ensure traffic management, and enhance the protection of the lives and properties of citizens in the state.
CP Danmamman disclosed further that no agency can do it alone without the brotherly assistance of other agencies, most especially in the area of motor vehicle investigation-related crime, through sharing information about vehicle data from the FRSC and the police Central Motor Registry (CMR), hence the need to synergize and cooperate with one another.
In his response, the FRSC sector commander, Niger State Command, CC Kumar Tsukwan, welcomed the commissioner of police to his office and explained that his office doesn't delay in sharing information with the police for investigation activities on vehicle matters.
The sector commander, who earlier appreciated the CP's visit and support of their various offices within the state, described the visit as apt and timely, promising that he will work for a more robust relationship with the police, most especially on the environmental task force towards ensuring clearance of roads around the market areas in the state.
Commander Kumar Tsukwan then commended the men and officers of the Niger State Police Command for their performance during the recently conducted re-run State House of Assembly election at Lavun Local Government Area of the state.
