Gov Bago fulfils promise to family of deceased court registrar

Niger State Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago has fulfilled the pledge he made to the family of Mallam Muhammadu Namaru, the late Registrar of Sharia Court, Ibbi, in the Mashegu Local Government area of Niger State.
Presenting the money to the family at their residence in Minna on Monday, the Chief Judge of Niger State, Justice Halima Ibrahim Abdulmalik, who was represented by the Chief Registrar of the Niger State High Court, Hajiya Amina Lamide Musa, explained that in response to the pledge made by the Governor of Niger State, Mohammed Umaru Bago, "we present the sum of N2 million to the bereaved family."
She stated that the money will assist in alleviating the problems the bereaved family will be facing as a result of the demise of their breadwinner.
She told the family to make proper use of the money to cushion their plight by making an impact on the children he left behind.
Receiving the money on behalf of the family, the widow of the registrar, Mrs. Aishat Mohammed Namaru, and his son, Mohammed Mohammed Namaru, expressed their appreciation to the governnor for fulfilling his promise, the chief registrar, and the management of the state judiciary for their kind-hearted gesture.
She promised to utilise the money for the benefit of the family, ensuring that the money would be judiciously used to impact the family.
The Chief Registrar was accompanied by the Director of Media and Publicity at the Niger State High Court, Alhaji Ahmed Abubakar Nami, the Director of Finance in the State Judiciary, Alhaji Ndagi Gimba, the Staff Officer of the Niger State Judiciary, Alhaji Dauda Wasa Kuta, and the Chief Registrar of the Sharia Court of Appeal, Niger State, Isah Sarki Paiko, among other staff.
It will be recalled that the registrar was abducted and killed by a gang of armed bandits during a deadly attack they launched in the area.
The chief judge of Niger State Justice Halima Ibrahim Abdulmalik, during a special court session to mark the 2023 lagal year, made a passionate appeal to the governor to assist the bereaved family with financial support to cushion the effect of the hardship they were passing through as a result of the killing of their breadwinner.
Governor Umaru Bago, in response to the request of the chief judge, donated the sum of two million naira to the family.
