The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) Headquarters, Abuja, has said it has not commenced the 2022/2023 recruitment of police constables and has not advertised for any recruitment exercise, as recently reported and circulated on social media platforms.
The Force Police Public Relations Officer (FPPRO), CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, who made this disclosure in a press release and made it available to newsmen, urged the members of the public to disregard the said publication as it was fake.
CSP Adejobi, in the statement, said, "The force wishes to reiterate and inform well-meaning members of the public that the police has not commenced the 2022/2023 recruitment into the Nigeria police force for constables, contrary to the fake publication, and I want to state unequivocally that the advertisement has no connection with the Nigeria police force's established recruitment process, which has been circulating in the social media platforms, and such information should be discounted in its entirety".
"The Nigeria Police Force thereby assure well meaning Nigerians that the commencement of the 2022/23 recruitment exercise will be announced via the official website https/policerecricutment gov.ng,the Nigeria police official website; https/ www.npf.gov.ng and advertisements on national dailies and official police social media accounts as and when due,"
"The public is hereby advised to rely solely on the above-mentioned verified sources and platforms and exercise caution and vigilance in order to avoid falling victim to fraudulent recruitment schemes," the statement added.
The Acting IGP, according to CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, has further restated the commitment of the present police leadership to a standardised recruitment process with a view to having more competent recruit intakes into the policing system in Nigeria.

At the resumption of plenary today after many weeks of recession, the Niger State House of Assembly approved the dissolution of all statutory commissions, boards, and parastatals carried out by Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago and called on him to always intimate them on time.
The governor's letter at the plenary was read by the Speaker, represented by the Deputy Speaker, Hon. Afiniki Dauda.
During debate, although the members agreed that it was the prerogative of the governor to dissolve such boards, they argued that he should have allowed for their contribution, especially because these boards were tenure-based and to give room for proper interpretation of the law.
After thorough debate amongst the members, they all agreed to the dissolution but urged the governor to always inform them on time, as the leadership of the House will meet with the governor for dialogue.
Also at the sitting, the Member representing Shiroro Local Government, Hon. Andrew Doma, moved a motion calling on the Niger State Government to strategize and address the constant attacks by bandits in Shiroro LGA.
It was passed through with modifications and other prayers, as the government was called upon to reform the security architecture in Niger State to tackle bandit attacks on Shiroro, Munya Paikoro, and other affected LGAs in the state.
A motion inviting the state Commissioner of Police, state commander of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, and Commandant of the Vigilante Corps, moved by Muhammad Abubakar of Chanchaga constituency, prompted by the recent robbery attack at the Emir's Palace Minna, also passed.
After much deliberation on the floor of the House, the incident was condemned entirely, with a call to the police to take the investigation seriously and find the culprits.
The House also appealed to the Chanchaga Local Government to come to the aid of the workers whose salaries were carted away in the robbery attack.
