New Year: Gov Umaru Bago is committed to New Niger agenda, says Niger Dep Gov

Deputy Governor of Niger State, Comrade Yakubu Garba, has said that his principal, Farmer Governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago, is committed to his "New Niger" agenda.
The Deputy Governor stated this in his New Year message to Nigerlites through his Press Secretary, Ummikhaltume Abdullahi Kuta, emphasising that the policy direction of the present administration in the state was geared towards the establishment of a new and sustainable Niger State with full opportunities for all.
He noted that maintaining a harmonious working relationship with other arms of government under the administration of Governor Umaru Bago will continue to strengthen the existing synergy and collaborations between the executive, legislative, and judicial arms of government, thereby putting the state on the path of sustainable development and achieving collective objectives for Nigerlites.
Comrade Yakubu Garba added that the immediate needs of the state will serve as the road map for a visionary journey embodied in the Niger State Future Initiative, noting that as a social contract with Nigerlites, the Farmer Governor's manifesto will be used towards improving livelihoods by fostering a sustainable economy, upholding good governance, and advancing both urban and rural development.
He observed that in the quest for a "new and sustainable Niger" agenda, there was an urgent need to grow the state economy as well as improve the revenue base of the state, adding that it will move the industrialization drive forward by engaging in genuine partnerships that improve the ease of doing business to attract investors.
The Deputy Governor reassured Nigerlites that the government will be re-positioned for enhanced service delivery and environmental management that conserve nature for the sake of future generations.
He noted that the present administration has demonstrated its commitment to environmental management by convening the Green Economy Summit, where environmental issues were discussed, which gave birth to the Niger State Green Economy Blueprint that was developed and launched.
He added that the recently established International Gold Market was a deliberate attempt to further enhance the opportunities for gold mining in the state by evolving the economy into a "new and sustainable Niger.".
While urging Nigerlites to step into the New Year with renewed hope, the Deputy Governor reassured them that the present administration in the state was committed to improving the quality of life and livelihood of the people of the state, appealing to them to support and pray for the success of the government.
